The Excellence of Valdobbiadene Prosecco Superiore D.O.C.G. for the FALSTAFF magazine.
Falstaff is the elegant magazine for bon vivants, leader in the food and wine tourism sector in the German-speaking countries (Germany, Austria and Switzerland), which even this year reconfirms the podium for the Dal Din sparkling wines.
The constant demand of customers for sparkling wines has led the Falstaff editorial staff to organize a tasting to select the excellence among sparkling wines produced with Charmat Method and Classic Method.
The tasting carried out by the professional sommeliers Simon Staffler and Othmar Kiem was attended by 700 sparkling wine labels from all over Europe. There has been a careful selection of the best wine-growing areas, the best winemakers and their excellence.
The sommeliers Staffler and Kiem selected and awarded the Dal Din sparkling wines with an excellent score, in particular the RY Extra Brut Zero Dosage. It distinguished itself as the Excellence of the Valdobbiadene Prosecco Superiore D.O.C.G. with the highest score of 94 points.
“Brilliant, bright silver, fresh at nose, with notes of juicy lime, fresh coconut flakes, white flowers and elderberry. On the palate it is perfectly balanced. The perlage, acidity and fruit scents are well perceived. Dry, perfect and long: that’s how Prosecco D.O.C.G. must be!”
Judgements have been written in the magazine FALSTAFF Sparkling Special 2020, released in November in the German-speaking countries (Germany, Austria, Switzerland).
CHARACTERISTICS OF RY EXTRA BRUT ZERO DOSAGE:
A sparkling wine produced with Glera grapes harvested and rigorously selected by hand from the DalDin vineyards, whose hilly area has recently been recognized as a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The quality of the terroir, the constant exposure to sunshine, added to the knowledge of the winemaker and our oenological and sparkling wine techniques, allow us to produce a high quality sparkling wine.
The sparkling wine process takes place by refermentation in autoclaves (airtight tanks) for more than 60 days (twice the time of the minimum allowed by disciplinary) at controlled temperature and with selected yeasts, according to the Charmat Method. RY Extra Brut Dosage Zero is part of the family selection, dedicated to the passionate winemaker Riccardo and the young Ricky. It can be perfectly paired with starter, fish dishes and white meats.
